The Diamond is the latest in HTC's Touch range, and comes stacked with a range of features to help it take on the market leading iPhone.
At first glance many of these features seem to take a fairly healthy dollop of inspiration from its well-known rival, with the Diamond featuring the ability to landscape an image or webpage by turning the phone on its side, and a clickwheel used for navigation.
Unlike the iPhone, the Diamond runs on Windows Mobile 6.1, which may cause a few grumbles, though HTC is unsurprisingly touting its "revolutionary" new touch interface called Touchflo 3D, which is abound with animated menus and shiny effects but basically boils down to being able to flip album covers and contacts as if they were on a rolodex.
The Diamond also features a more powerful 3.2 megapixel camera, as well as built-in GPS, support for HSDPA and Bluetooth and a 2.4in screen. The trade-off is memory, with the Diamond coming with just 4GB, half that of Apple's cheapest iPhone.
The company is touting a four hour battery life and availability through Vodafone, Orange, 3 and O2 in June. Price has yet to be confirmed.
