Google shows drivers the way with Street View 8:41AM, Wednesday 30th April 2008
Google has added Street View images to its driving directions, adding a visible route line to actual photographs of roads.

Only images of junctions and changes of direction are included, rather than whole journeys, giving drivers a short visual tour of their route.

Users can access the images where available by clicking on a camera icon next to directions in the left hand pane.

Currently Google has added Street View images for 44 regions in the United States, but none in the UK. No announcement has been made on whether or not the company has any plans to do so, and it was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

Street View was initially launched in Google Maps last year, but earlier this month the company announced that it had added a Street View layer to Google Earth.
