PC Pro's Microsoft Money campaign is picking up speed, with 500 readers emailing us to demand a new version.
Microsoft has failed to release an update for the UK version of Money since 2005, even though the US received a new version only last year. Despite this, the company claims the four-year old software is good enough for the UK market, despite technical support coming to an end on 30 June.
In issue 164, PC Pro editor Tim Danton wrote an open letter to the software giant asking Microsoft to rectify this situation, and calling for readers who want to see a new version of the program to email in.

The letter obviously hit a nerve, with one reader noting: "It is the only product that I know of that automatically connects to my online bank (Nationwide) and downloads transactions automatically. I can't believe there are so few people doing their banking in this way that Microsoft don't think it's worthy of continuing support and developing new releases, especially when so many UK online banks support it... totally bizarre!"
A sentiment echoed throughout the emails we've received: "I think it is morally wrong that Microsoft should produce a product like this and not continue to support and update it when so many customers use and depend on it," says another reader.
