Hitachi unleashes PC-TV

Want to watch some telly while surfing the net or playing your favourite game? TV cards in PCs aren't new, but the latest Hitachi PC was designed with multimedia convergence in mind.
The Prius Deck 750S5PV is a PC which has a TV tuner and a 100Gb hard drive. "So what?" you say. The thing about the Prius is that it is designed to be used for recording TV programmes and you can record up to 24 hours' worth of TV with this beauty. The Prius also features an innovative D1 interface, which allows the computer to be connected to other tuners, a satellite receiver for example.
The unit in fact has two tuners - one in the PC and the other built-in to the TFT-LCD monitor. It will also have a separate DVD-RAM and a CD-RW drive and will retail in Japan for 400,000 yen (about £2,500).
