Mesh and warranty provider wrangle leaves customers in limbo 10:21AM, Friday 11th April 2008
Mesh and its third party warranty provider Repair-Line have severed ties acrimoniously, placing the future of customer warranties in doubt.

According to a posting on the Repair-Line website, it was contracted by the PC manufacturer to provide on-site warranties for its customers but now claims "all services to the manufacturer are being withheld due to non payment of account and failure to exchange parts buffer stock to allow repairs to continue."

Mesh is arguing that it wound up its deal with Repair-Line due to the company's poor service, however, this still means that customers who took up the option of extended on site warranties with Repair-Line have been left in limbo. One such customer is PC Pro reader Jonathan Newman.

"We are now being told that the money we have shelled out for on-site support is now as good as gone, as the company have been given their marching orders and we are left with the task of getting our money back," he says.

"We can not get the company in question to return our calls or get hold of anyone useful, and to add further insult to injury we are being told that we will have to pay the new company that Mesh uses again for on-site support."

With regards to customer warranties covered by Repair-Line, Mesh says: "Mesh Computers Ltd offered for sale Repair-Line Ltd extended warranties for which Repair-Line Ltd have received, or taken directly all payments. It is the responsibility of Repair-Line Ltd to fulfil their obligations of cover of these warranties."

You can read the company's full statement here.

We've been unable to contact Repair-Line for comment.
