Associated Newspapers Teams Up With ShopCreator To Target SMEs 4:01PM, Wednesday 4th October 2000
Print Media giant Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) has taken a 20% stake in ShopCreator Developments, a Yorkshire company that enables small and medium sized businesses to set up shop on the internet.

DMGT's subsidiary Associated Newspapers will kick off a £5 million e-commerce promotion in its key papers - Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and London Evening Standard - from this Sunday. It will give away 5000 Shopcreator packages.

DMGT claims that its national titles reach over 280,000 SMEs and it is committed to promoting e-commerce acceptance among British businesses.

Shopcreator Developments plans to float on the London Stock Exchange this year. It already claims 750 clients are using its services to develop online shops.
