The Zune is currently only sold in North America, but according to Les Echos, Microsoft France's director Francois Ruault says that will change with the worldwide release of Zune 3 in 2009.
According to the report, Microsoft will also be opening a new version of its Zune Marketplace and, intriguingly, the paper goes onto suggest that owners of Windows Mobile 7 devices will also be able to utilise Zune content and services, though details remain sketchy.
Microsoft has so far remain tight lipped on Windows Mobile 7, though reports that it will be motion-based have surfaced. However, tighter integration with the Zune will undoubtedly lead to speculation of a Zune-phone making an appearance in the not-to-distant future.
