Former Time boss puts Evesham up for sale 2:30PM, Thursday 21st February 2008
Former Time Computers director, Tahir Mohsan, has issued a press release putting Evesham Technology up for sale.

Mohsan claims that the "the re-structuring of troubled UK PC assembler, Evesham Technology Limited, has been successfully completed."

The release claims the Evesham brand is currently being licensed to Geemore Technology, another subsidiary company of Mohsan's. "It is PCC's objective to seek a buyer for Geemore Technology Limited," Mohsan claims.

"The Company has been offered to Richard [Austin, former Evesham managing director] but he has decided for his own reasons that this is not the right time for him.

"If a buyer cannot be found, Geemore intends to continue but the operation may be reduced to a smaller operation with lower overheads, in a controlled and responsible manner, whilst ensuring that customers are not affected."

Quite what's left of Geemore Technology is difficult to ascertain. The administrator's report on Evesham Technology issued last October reveals that the company's property was sold to Mohsin [sic] Investments

Ltd. When PC Pro phoned the company earlier this week and enquired if it too was owned by Tahir Mohsan, the company's representative hung up.

Evesham's plant, machinery and stock were sold to TGD Limited, another Mohsan company, while the customer contracts and information were sold for just £1 each to a company called Sapphire Brands Ltd.

Customer support

Last week, PC Pro revealed how another company with links to Mohsan, Total Care Support, was selling warranties to Evesham customers.

A representative of Total Care Support this week refused to discuss the matter with PC Pro unless we visited its Burnley premises, but now Mohsan claims this was a deliberate measure to support Evesham customers.

"It was no longer possible for Evesham to provide free support to its customers. However, PCC was conscious not to leave customers out on a limb without any support so has negotiated reduced rates with Total Care so that customers can take up support should they desire," he says.

PC Pro once again tried to contact Richard Singleton, the man who's listed as a spokesman for Evesham on the press release and to whom all inquiries have been passed over the past few weeks, but he refused to take our call. We were invited to send an email. We have sent Mr Singleton several emails over the past fortnight but no response has been received to any of them.
