Mozilla launches Firefox 3 beta 3 7:56AM, Wednesday 13th February 2008
Mozilla has launched the third beta of Firefox 3, bringing a full release of the next-generation browser one step closer.

Performance has received a boost in the latest version, with 350 memory leaks having been plugged.

There has also been a reduction in the memory footprint of the program, which should improve loading times and general performance.

The latest version brings many claimed security updates, too, including

better malware protection, support for extended validation SSL certificates and anti-virus integration with the download manager.

Users making the upgrade will also notice that pages render more attractively and reliably, with improvements to the way that CSS is handled, and incremental updates to the graphics and font rendering architecture.

The first beta version of Firefox 3 was released in November last year, but news soon emerged that developers were struggling with a number of bugs.

You can download the beta from Mozilla's website here.
