UPDATED: Apple doubles iPhone and iPod touch 7:28AM, Wednesday 6th February 2008
Apple has announced new iPhone and iPod touch models, doubling the storage capacity of each.

The iPhone now comes with either 16GB or 8GB, while the iPod touch has a 32GB option to add to the existing 16GB and 8GB models.

"For some users, there's never enough memory," says Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod and iPhone Product Marketing.

"Now people can enjoy even more of their music, photos and videos on the most revolutionary mobile phone and best Wi-Fi mobile device in the world."

UPDATE: The 16GB iPhone is priced at £329, while the 8GB model is unchanged at £269. The 32GB iPod touch costs £329, with no change in the prices of the other models: £269 price for 16GB and £199 fpor the 8GB.
