The Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh 2 was released to around 15,000 users earlier this week, one month after the first Release Candidate emerged in December.
Microsoft has long insisted that SP1 will bring no new features, focusing instead on performance boosts and security updates.
In December, Microsoft released a 17-page document detailing the improvements SP1 would make to Vista, and claimed that it would be released in the first quarter of 2008.
"The final release date is based on quality, so we will continue to track customer and partner feedback from the beta program before setting a final date," says Microsoft.
Last month we tested the previous version of the Service Pack, and found that there was no noticeable difference in system performance, although copying files was significantly faster. We will be bringing you more information on RC2 once we have conducted further tests.
