Apple has reportedly banned retailers from discussing sales of the iPhone, as rumours continue to circulate of poor British sales.
Reports on the This Is Money website, suggest that though Steve Jobs is likely to give total European sales at Macworld, he will shy away from sales figures for individual countries.
As part of this strategy, Apple has apparently placed a gag on its retail partners O2 and Carphone Warehouse, preventing them spilling any potentially embarrassing information, even to investors.
Analysts have suggested that the high cost of the handset coupled with the 18 month contract have put off British consumers, despite the uniformly positive reviews for the device.
Apple has yet to respond to our requests for comments.
