screens internet traffic before it reaches the PC and drops the internet connection when threats are identified.

Yoggie claims it's decided to offer the stripped-down version of its hardware because some customers couldn't be tempted away from their regular security software. "Some people are happy with their antivirus software. They want to keep it and rely on it," says Avi Dardik, senior marketing director at Yoggie. "But they realise the value of separating the computer from the internet."

However, customers will still have to forego their software firewall if they opt for the Firestick Pico, as Dardik claims it could potentially cause conflicts with the hardware.

The Firestick Pico will have a street price of around $79.
