7. Secret flight sim found in Google Earth
Google has had an up and down year, but for all the headlines it created it was the revelation of a secret flight sim built into Google Earth that really caught your eye. Lingering questions over privacy and legislative wrangles over the DoubleClick acquisition may have been bigger deals for the company in 2007, but they didn't even scratch our top ten.
8. Police email reveals Ebay investigation shambles
A leaked email which revealed that crimes committed on Ebay totalling tens of thousands of pounds were being investigated by a solitary police constable understandably caused a lot of interest among our readers. Despite the sums of money and the best efforts of the constable involved, it seems the police still aren't coming to terms with the scale of e-crime, and the comments on the story indicates many of you agree.
9. My BT Vision of Hell
Our executive editor's travails switching from Sky to BT Vision - a transition marked by blackouts, power losses and frozen films - clearly found a sympathetic audience, propelling this tale of woe into our top ten stories of the year.
10. Band releases album on floppy disk
A blast from the past completes our round-up, with the floppy disk staging a mini-comeback. News that a band was to release its next album on a floppy disk, obviously tickled you and managed to ensure that the musicians in question ended up on a least one top ten this year.
