Flickr has released a new version of its photo uploading application, and added a stats feature for Pro subscribers to the photo sharing website.
Uploadr 3.0 is a standalone desktop app that provides an alternative to uploading images via the web interface. The chief new feature lets users drag and drop images to re-order them before they are uploaded. It also lets users begin work on another batch of photos just as soon as one collection is uploading. No need to wait any longer.
Stats provides Pro users with data on who is looking at pictures and where they are coming from. There are statistics available for people surfing on Flickr itself and for people coming from other websites. Stats also provides information about the search engine queries that point at a user's photos and how times photos are viewed.
Information for the statistics dates back to the date that a photo was uploaded, and a graph also shows the last 28 days of traffic. Referral information is only stored for a few weeks until a user activates the feature. Then the information is stored indefinitely.
The Stats feature has been added to the You menu but once activated it will take Flickr about 24 hours to compile the first set of data.
