Dell has announced that it is to start selling PCs through the Best Buy chain, as it continues to expand beyond its traditional direct sales business model.
The company will be offering several models of its XPS and Inspiron PCs through 900 Best Buy shops after Christmas, including the XPS M1330 notebook, Inspiron 1420 notebook, and the XPS One desktop. Dell says it intends to make additional models and colours available in coming months.
Best Buy is the latest high-profile retail chain to be courted by the PC manufacturer, which already has deals with Wal-Mart and Staples in the US, as well as Carrefour and Carphone Warehouse in Europe.
Alongside its push onto the high street, the company is also expanding its product range and recently announced its intention to sell Google's Search Appliances, Solaris Servers and Ubuntu desktops.
