Mobile Firefox to debut on Windows Mobile 3:06PM, Tuesday 27th November 2007
Mozilla has announced that Mobile Firefox will debut on Nokia 800 devices and those running Windows Mobile 6.

The announcement comes courtesy of lead engineer Christian Sejersen, who reveals in his blog that "these platforms are either already up and running or will be soon - and will allow our community to start testing [user experience] with different hardware characteristics e.g. screen size (N800/N810: 800×480 vs. HTC S730 320×240) and touch-screen vs. non-touch-screen."

"As many people will quickly notice there is no Symbian version here," he adds. "We are aware of the millions of Symbian devices in the world and this is just a start and a good area to focus. We'd love help on Symbian if anyone is interested."

Recently released financial figures suggest Mozilla relies heavily on the income it receives from Google searches performed within the browser, and its push into the mobile market suggests it's keen not to lose ground to already deployed browsers including Safari and Opera Mobile.
