The MD300, which is the size of a memory stick, plugs into a USB port and allows users to connect to a range of mobile networks, including HSDPA, 3G, Edge and GPRS, depending on preference.
According to the company all the necessary PC drivers are built into the device, so for those users nothing needs to be installed or carried around, though Mac users will need to download software from the internet.
Customers will also have access to Sony Ericsson's Playnow service, which gives users the ability to sample and download ringtones and games.
The device will be rolled out in the UK in early 2008, however, pricing has yet to be confirmed.
