MySpace is teaming up with Skype to offer users free VoIP calls via the social networking service.
From November, Skype's calling service will be built into MySpace's instant messaging software, meaning current users will not be required to download any new software.
The companies claim the deal will create the world's largest voice-connected community with around 330 million users.
Though financial details of the partnership were not disclosed, reports suggest the two companies will split revenue generated through Skype's pay services including voice mail and calls to landlines and mobile phones.
The partnership is a timely boost for Skype which could have as much as $1.2 billion written off its value after Ebay admitted it overpaid for the company.
"Skype has the leading technology in internet voice communications and an enormous international user base that we're thrilled to connect with our existing community," says Chris DeWolfe, CEO of MySpace.
"Our network has no geographical boundaries-internet calling is the natural next step for how our members communicate with each other."
