Microsoft boosts Skydrive capacity to 1GB

Microsoft has doubled the capacity of its online storage service, Skydrive, to 1GB.
Alongside the capacity upgrade, Microsoft has also introduced a few new features including RSS feeds to automatically notify your contacts that you've added something new to your public folders.
There's also the ability to add contacts through SkyDrive, rather than having to go through Hotmail or Windows Messenger, as used to be the case. Finally, uploaded files now display the name of the person that added each file.
Skydrive can be used by anybody with a Windows Live ID, as long as they live within the UK, US and India, the markets where the beta is being trialled. There's currently no word from Microsoft as to when the beta will come to an end and users beyond the three trial countries will be able to start using the service.
The Skydrive improvements follow a busy couple of month for Microsoft as it seeks to bolster its online services, beefing up its Live search engine and adding an online component to its office suite.
