Apple upgrades iPod buyers for free 10:58AM, Thursday 6th September 2007
Apple has enhanced its reputation for excellent customer service by offering customers who recently ordered iPods a free upgrade to the new models.

PC Pro's art editor, Jo Clements, ordered a 30GB iPod from the Apple Store on 2 September, three days before the company unveiled the revamp of the entire iPod range.

However, instead of shipping the defunct model, the company sent Jo an email today confirming that it would now upgrade her order to the latest model.

"Since your iPod has not yet shipped, we will upgrade your order to the new iPod classic with video from 30GB to 80GB, and 80GB to 160GB, at no additional charge," the company wrote.

End result? One very satisfied art editor. And before anyone suggests otherwise, Jo ordered the iPod under her personal email address, so Apple would have no idea that she works for a computer magazine.
