Windows Vista users are set for a boost with the release of two hotfixes that address serious bugs in the operating system.
Microsoft has released the Performance and Reliability and the Compatibility and Reliability updates simultaneously on its Windows support site.
The patches address key issues such as the tardy file-transfer speeds, hibernate and sleep problems, and video card support problems. Memory, printer and user account issues have also been addressed.
As we reported last month, the beta versions of the hotfixes resulted in a significant performance boost for early testers.
The hotfixes are expected to be rolled into Windows Updates on the next Patch Tuesday. They are also expected to be a prime part of Service Pack 1.
