Evesham Technology is on the verge of a buy-out, the company has admitted.
Time UK - which sells Time-branded computers following the 2005 collapse of Granville Technology - is the latest company to be linked with a takeover bid for the well-respected PC manufacturer.
Pressed on the rumours of a potential Time takeover, an Evesham spokesperson claimed: "People will believe what they want to believe." However, she did confirm that "people are looking at us".
Evesham was particularly badly hit by the sudden withdrawal of the Home Computer Initiative (HCI) in last year's budget. The company was subsequently forced to lay off a quarter of its staff.
The company has also seen a number of its senior management leave in recent weeks.
Evesham is one of the most highly regarded PC manufacturers in the UK. It is the current holder of the PC Pro Service and Reliability Award for desktop PCs.
