The PC Pro weekly news round-up
Posted on 15 Jun 2007 at 17:30
Apple and Google dominate the news this week. As well as unveiling more details of the Leopard desktop design, there was the surprise announcement of Windows for Safari. You can read the PC Pro review here. Apple also escaped an ASA rap over its PC virus ads.
Google finished the week falling out of favour with Ebay, having started it being attacked for 'hostility to privacy' over its handling of data. Between the two, it spearheaded a new energy saving initiative along with Intel.
Epson was intent on making waves, too. As well as slamming the use of third-party compatible cartridges - blaming two thirds of its printer returns on the cheap ink sellers - it hit out at rival printer manufacturers, too. Principally, Kodak and its new inkjet printer was slated, with HP and Canon also getting the treatment.
