OCZ makes first FireWire flash drive 6:11AM, Wednesday 6th June 2007
OCZ has made the first thumb-sized flash drive using the FireWire interface. Jessica Luken, Global Marketing Manager, claims the FireWire drive will prove much faster than the conventional USB interface and had benchmarks to prove it.

The test screens show the FireWire drive to be faster than a USB counterpart in every respect. Some tests showed marked improvements, while others were much closer. You can see the results here (opens in a new window). The lack of accessible FireWire ports on most PCs could, however, prove to be a problem.

OCZ couldn't confirm when the drives would reach British shores, but Luken confirmed the drive will work with Vista ReadyBoost which could prove beneficial.
