Google Analytics rolls out worldwide

Posted on 9 May 2007 at 11:26

Google has revamped its website traffic monitoring service and made it available to businesses worldwide.

New functionality in Version 2 of Google Analytics includes email reporting, customisable dashboards, and new site map displays. According to Google, there is also a greater emphasis on making the data more accessible.

Integrated with Google AdWords - the company's search marketing system - it also presents details of display campaigns or cost-per-click programs.

The system will be rolled out automatically to existing users over the coming
weeks, while new users who sign up will work with the new version.

Reassuring users over the switch, Google says all historical data will be available
in the new version, and there will be at least a 30-day hand over period for users when both old and new versions will be accessible.

'The new version of Google Analytics will give advertisers and site owners greater insight into their customers' needs, thereby increasing advertiser ROI while also improving the e-commerce experience of consumers,' said Brian Clifton, Head of Google's Web Analytics EMEA.
