Old media takes last stand against 'the Googles of the world'

MySpace last month blocked traffic coming from Photobucket after the photo service began running ads on photos displayed on MySpace sites. MySpace said it had violated its service terms.

'You'll see more acquisitions,' Chernin said. 'This is a world where the big get bigger. You'll see increased consolidation.'

Media giants are not the only organisations unhappy with Google, and YouTube in particular. English football's Premier League, together with music publisher Bourne, is suing the video sharing website for alleged breach of copyright by allowing users to upload clips of its matches.
