Sony plugs dual-interface DVD

Sony has announced the European release of its first dual-interface CD and DVD writer.
The DRX-830UL-T is a multi-format drive that comes with both FireWire (or i.Link as Sony prefers to call it) and USB 2.0 interfaces. It supports up to 18x overspeed writing on standard 16x DVDR media enabling it to record 4.7GB of data, music, video or images in approximately five minutes.
The drive includes CD and DVD authoring software - Nero 7 Essential for Windows and Toast 6 Lite for Mac OS X - but has yet to make it to the Sony Europe website. Tech specs, however, can be found on this Sony USA page. The drive will ship this month.
