It's almost a year since the original Mighty Mouse launched and, as Apple already had a Bluetooth version of its regular, one-button mouse, it seemed logical to think that a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse would not be far away. It's taken nearly a year, so was it worth the wait?

love the wireless version. It connects to your Mac using Bluetooth, so if you haven't got Bluetooth built in, you'll need a USB Bluetooth adaptor. With the supplied AA batteries fitted and your Mac's Bluetooth switched on, you need to install the driver software to be able to program the Mouse's four buttons and scroll ball - why this isn't now built into the Mac OS is a bit of an unsolved mystery. Installation requires a restart, and then a visit to System Preferences allows you to set up the Mouse as a new Bluetooth device and configure its buttons.

In use, we like the Wireless Mighty Mouse. It feels responsive, glides over the desk like a figure skater on an Olympic ice rink, and the scroll ball, which allows horizontal and vertical scrolling, is great to use. We're still not convinced about the squeezy side button and its relatively high price, but that's all we could find to complain about.
