Sweden and Denmark have both said they will investigate whether the digital music service violates local consumer protection laws. Their enquiries were prompted by Norway, itself not an EU member, which has given Apple until 1 August to alter the store's terms and conditions in order to comply with Norwegian law.

'We wouldn't at this stage regard this as an instance of major concern until we've seen further market developments,' he said.
He acknowledged that some member states believe there should be open access to all websites but noted that Apple has obtained its strong market position in open competition with many similar players.
