Big Bang Chess named Best Mac OS X Product by Apple 9:55AM, Wednesday 30th June 2004
Big Bang Chess has been named Best Mac OS X Product in the 2004 Apple Design Awards.

Although nominally a mere chess game, this one has a choice of traditional or a selection of fantasy pieces and is closely integrated into OS X, letting you share games over iChat, control iTunes, play-by-email and set up games across your local network via Rendezvous. The software also claimed the Best Mac OS X Technology Adoption award.

Macromedia's website editing application Contribute was named Best Product New to Mac OS while the iSight-based gaming application, ToySight, picked up the award for Most Innovative Mac OS X Product.

Other gongs went to Panic's Usenet reader Unison and Unreal Tournament 2004

All the winners and runners up are listed at developer.apple.com/wwdc.
