MacBooks extend Apple's covert 801.11n rollout

Apple has continued its covert rollout of next-generation wireless technology, installing 802.11n-compatible cards in the new Core2Duo MacBooks.
The notebooks contain the same Atheros AR5008E WiFi chipset as the recently upgraded MacBook Pro, which supports 802.11n Draft 1.0 specification as well as the existing a, b and g standards.
The iMac range also includes dormant support for 802.11n, which is thought to be the wireless specification that Apple will use in its forthcoming wireless TV connector.
The Mac Pro and Mac mini ranges currently support the b and g standards, both of which are interoperable with n.
Currently there is no support in Mac OS X for 802.11n, which provides greater bandwidth for faster networking speeds as well as extended range.
