UPDATED: Update adds new iPod features
11:09AM, Friday 9th August 2002
Apple has released an iPod software update that adds support for Audible.com spoken word content and iTunes 3 Sound Check.
The release last month of iTunes 3 included the ability to directly import content from Audible.com and added a new feature, Sound Check, that allows you to set all your tunes to play back at the same volume. Also supported are iTunes 3's new Smart Playlists and the update includes syncing, so any Smart Playlists based on variable factors - such as the number of times a song has been listened to - are automatically synchronised between iTunes on a Mac and the iPod whenever the iPod is connected to the Mac.
The update also addes support for iCal, Apple's forthcoming calendar software.
The iPod Software 1.2 Updater is a free download.
