DigiTimes has a report that Quanta, the Taiwanese manufacturer that makes computers for Apple, will soon start producing 17 and 19 inch flat panel iMacs. Currently the new iMac is only available with a 15 inch display.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has given an unusually lengthy interview to News.com, in which he somewhat uncharacteristically described the eMac in less-than-gushing terms, saying it's a 'pretty good product'.

He also revealed some of the reasons behind the decision to make the eMac available to all, and discusses a number of other issues, such as QuickTime 6 and MPEG-4, the iMac, competition with Dell and the US retail stores. He seems upbeat about the general performance of the company at present.

System 6, which was running on Macs some ten and more years ago, has made an Internet comeback, in the shape of the new Web site for the Bremmstahlung recording label.
