Apple releases iPod touch 1.1.5 update 8:56AM, Wednesday 16th July 2008
Apple has released an iPod touch update for users who decide not to pay the £5.99 to upgrade to v2.0.

To get the update, connect the iPod to iTunes, click the Update button and then decline v2.0; v1.1.5 is then offered in its place.

What isn't provided are any details of what the update includes. There is no visible evidence of any changes, so it seems most likely that v1.1.5 provides the security content of v2.0, which is largely concerned with vulnerabilities that could lead to arbitrary code execution. However Apple has yet to confirm this.

iPod touch v2.0 is required to run applications from the new App Store.
