The company announced in January that it planned to reduce prices in the UK to bring them in line with the rest of Europe. At the time the 79p Apple charged for a single track equated to €1.06, while it was charging €0.99 elsewhere.
Now 79p is almost exactly 99 eurocent, making any price cut unnecessary.
"The announcement was that we would match the UK price to that of other lower priced European countries," an Apple spokesman said. "This is no longer necessary as exchange rates have effectively done it for us."
He added that the company would alter prices in future if needed.
Apple agreed to equalise pricing following an investigation by the European Commission, itself prompted by the UK's Office of Fair Trading.
