The PC maker has introduced a firmware upgrade for its Latitude XT that brings multitouch gestures to the Tablet PC.
The gestures are made on the tablet's display and can be used in nearly any application, Dell says, including common tools such as Internet Explorer, Google Earth and Windows' photo applications, as this video demonstrates.
Gestures include scrolling with two fingers, pinching to zoom, and programmable double-tap - in fact the same gestures that are present on Apple's MacBook Air and Pro but made on the screen rather than the trackpad.
"We introduced the Latitude XT as a revolutionary product in the tablet space," said Jeff Clarke, senior vice president, Dell Product Group. "Today Dell is taking that commitment to a new level with multi-touch functionality."
