The company issued the denial after the New York Times' Bits blog quoted both J B Perrette, the president of digital distribution for NBC Universal, and Microsoft spokesman Adam Sohn. Both said that the two companies were co-operating on "anti-piracy

But in a statement Microsoft said that while it was working with NBC on a number of issues, content filtering is not among them.
"Microsoft has no plans or commitments to implement content filtering features in the Zune family of devices as part of our content distribution deal with NBC," the Zune maker said in a statement.
Sohn then issued a separate statement repeating that there are "no plans or commitment to ... filtering technology".
Microsoft added TV shows to the Zune earlier this week, including programming from NBC, which withdrew from Apple's iTunes Store last year citing Apple's refusal to allow flexible pricing.
The broadcaster has since hinted that it will return if Apple makes concessions on pricing and on DRM - including installing a content filter on iPods.
