In its quarterly report, which follows last week's results announcement, Apple said that the increase was primarily driven by sales of the new MacBook Air, as well as higher sales of the iMac and other Mac portable systems.
Apple also saw a shift towards higher-priced portable systems, particularly the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
On the desktop, the new aluminium iMacs, updated this week, were largely responsible for the 37% quarterly increase in sales.
Apple also confirmed that the 35% increase in revenue from Music Related Products and Services was a result of increased iTunes Store sales, while Leopard was largely responsible for the 53% increase in software revenue.
And the company's AirPort and Time Capsule wireless products helped add 31% to income from hardware sales.
