Chandra Sanders claims that the iMac's monitor cannot display millions of colours, contrary to the claim on Apple's website. He says that Apple uses a dithering technology to give the illusion of millions of colours, but in fact the iMac can only show 262,144.
Brian Kabateck, managing partner of Sanders' attorneys, Kabateck Brown Kellner, said

"Apple is duping its customers into thinking they're buying 'new and improved' when in fact they're getting stuck with 'new and inferior'," said Kabateck. "Beneath Apple's 'good guy' image is a corporation that takes advantage of its customers. Our goal is to help those customers who were deceived and make sure Apple tells the truth in the future."
Sanders is seeking class action status for the lawsuit, but recent history suggest he may be over optimistic. A similar lawsuit relating to Apple's MacBook was settled after plaintiffs failed to find people to join a class action.
Apple does not comment on ongoing litigation.
