The new MacBook Pro range comprises two basic models offering a 2.4GHz or 2.5GHz processor, 15in or 17in widescreen displays and a 200GB or 250GB hard drive respectively. The faster model can be upgraded to 2.6GHZ with a 300GB HDD; 2GB of memory is standard, with a 4GB upgrade option.

The MacBook line-up comprises two white, 13in models with either a 2.1GHz or 2.4GHz processor, 1GB or 2GB of RAM, a 120GB or 160GG HDD, and a Combo drive (no DVD writing) or SuperDrive respectively.

The 13in black model boasts a 2.4GHz chip with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD and a SuperDrive. All three models can be upgraded to 4GB of RAM.

Unlike the Pro model, the MacBook does not have separate video support, relying instead on the Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of RAM that is shared with the computer's main memory.

As before all models have a built-in iSight video camera, 802.11b/g/n wireless networking, USB and FireWire, mini-DVD video out, Gigabit Ethernet, audio in and out and Apple's iLife software running on OS X 10.5 Leopard.
