Apple pulls out of broadcast trade show
11:05AM, Friday 8th February 2008
Apple has pulled out of the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show. Previous NAB shows have typically seen Apple unveil new products in its line of pro applications, such as Final Cut Studio 2 which was announced at last year's show.
Anuj Nayar, Apple's senior manager of PR at Apple, explained that the company is reducing the number of trade shows that it attends.
"Apple is participating in fewer trade shows this year" he said. "Often there are better ways to reach our customers. The increasing popularity of our retail stores and Apple.com website allows us to directly reach more than 100 million customers around the world in innovative new ways."
Much the same explanation was given for Apple's absence from the UK Mac Expo in October, despite the fact that it coincided with the releases of Leopard.
