Apple sells one million iPhones 1:49PM, Monday 10th September 2007
Apple has sold one million iPhones.

The company has announced that the one millionth handset was sold yesterday, 74 days after the smartphone-cum-iPod was introduced.

"One million iPhones in 74 days - it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO.

Last week Apple cut $200 off the price on an iPhone in a bid to grab a sizeable chunk of the Christmas shopping market. The cut was not well received by iPhone owners, prompting Apple to offer a $100 rebate.
