Jobs and Gates to debate digital revolution 11:20AM, Wednesday 21st February 2007
Steve Jobs and Bill Gates will come face-to-face when they take to the stage to discuss the history and future of the digital revolution in an unrehearsed, unscripted conversation at the the Wall Street Journal's D: All Things Digital conference in May.

Some-time friends and long-time adversaries, the Apple CEO and Microsoft founder have swapped David and Goliath roles of late, with Jobs basking in Apple's dominance of the digital music market. Gates, meanwhile, has been popping up all over the media talking-up Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system, insisting that its 'innovative' new features are exactly that, and not merely a copy

of Apple's Mac OS X. He even went as far as describing Apple's Get a Mac adverts as lies.

The stage will be set for a fascinating confrontation.

In a separate event at the Carlsbad, California conference Jobs will also demo the latest developments at Apple, including the iPhone and Apple TV. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer also gets a chance to talk about Windows, Office, the Xbox and Zune.

Other confirmed speakers include Google CEO Eric Schmidt, CBS president Les Moonves, Cisco CEO John Chambers, film director George Lucas, AOL founder Steve Case, Time CEO Ann Moore, News Corp. president Peter Chernin, Palm founder Jeff Hawkins and Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, founders of YouTube.
