Blogging tools are available for other mobile devices but there's no reason for iPhone users to feel marginalised. WordPress and TypePad even provide iPhone-specific versions of their tools.

In some ways the prospect of blogging on a phone should be more appealing than sitting down at a desktop to post new content. It can be done in idle time whether that's during a commute, over a cup of coffee or pretty much anywhere - provided that the iPhone has reception on the mobile network.

TypePad's tool has provision for uploading photos to a blog but if you're running on another blogging platform then check out what Flickr has to offer. It allows uploading of photos direct to a blog via email. WordPress and TypePad are joined by other popular blogging platforms including Blogger, LiveJournal and Movable Type.

If the iPhone is about communication and you're serious about blogging, you can't afford to ignore these apps.
