   1 Ensure your chair is adjustable and that the arms, if it has any, can be adjusted in height so that you can put your chair right under the desk if necessary. You should have the horizontal seat portion situated so your feet can sit flat on the ground with your knees bent at an angle slightly more obtuse than 90. Most importantly, though, remember that no one can work for eight hours straight. Take frequent breaks of 10-15 minutes, using the time to stand, walk and stretch. If you work in an office with smokers, taking breaks at the same time they pop out for a cigarette is a good way to make sure you take your breaks frequently.
