Murdoch unveils video plans for MySpace.com 4:03PM, Tuesday 10th January 2006
Rupert Murdoch plans to begin selling video downloads through his recently acquired MySpace.com.

The News Corp boss told a technology and media conference in Arizona that there will be 'millions of downloads a day probably'.

However Murdoch has already run into trouble with MySpace users who, the Independent reports, have accused him of censoring postings and blocking links to rival sites.

Murdoch said that he expects the News Corp's online revenues to reach $350-400mn by 2007. Its US satellite TV business is planning to invest $1bn in broadband delivery while in the UK BSkyB has just been given the go-ahead to acquire network provider and local loop unbundler Easynet. Sky started offering some programming and movies over the Internet in December.
