A real hidden gem, Pixelgirl Presents is an excellent site brimming with lots of very well designed desktop pictures and icons. It's the quality of the submissions that really makes this site stand out, with some very talented designers producing slick, professional content.

The selection of icons is disappointingly small, but they're all very good. Although they rarely fit in with OS X's Aqua styling, all the icons are well considered and beautifully executed.

While, in general, icon sets will often appear on many different sites, a high proportion of the icons on Pixelgirl Presents can only be downloaded from this site.

Navigation is poor - there's no search facility and you're reduced to clicking manually through the catalogue. This does throw up some nice surprises, though, and at least they're split into categories.

The desktop pictures here are superb - both in terms of quality and quantity - and while there are fewer icons than we'd like, they're beautifully designed.
