LabsOnline Backup
Although Backup2000 offers the lowest entry-level price of any of the services we looked at, with its $45-a-year 50MB service, it also managed to have the highest cost per gigabyte of any service at the high end. The software used is distinctly old fashioned, looking like something that would have been more at home on Windows 95 than XP. However, it's quite functional, and you're easily able to make a simple backup routine with it. The service also offers none of the frills of most of the others, such as making your archives available on CD, or keeping old versions of files. Unless you're looking for a very low-end product, or need only the smallest possible amount of storage, look elsewhere. |
