Online Backup

We test each of the services by setting up a folder to be backed up, containing 100MB of mixed files - some large, some small - and use the supplied software to back this up. Some of the files are in formats that are already compressed, while others are in uncompressed form. Testing each service on consecutive days, at the same time of day, we also time how long it takes each to complete the full backup. However, it's worth bearing in mind that the nature of backing up over the Internet means that our timings are still somewhat subjective, as they depend on traffic conditions on the Internet at the time - something which, despite our best efforts, is always variable.
